What is Renoca?

At the heart of our automotive philosophy lies the Renoca, a distinctive car model poised to redefine the driving experience. Our expertise is focused on revitalizing one of Toyota’s most enduring classics: the Land Cruiser. Through a comprehensive interior renovation and a classic facelift, we breathe new life into this iconic vehicle.

What models are available?

As of September 2023, we have 3 Renoca models: 106, Wonder, and Phoenix. Later in 2023, we will be introducing a brand-new model, Windansea, which will be based on the Tacoma. As for the existing models, the base vehicles we have are the Land Cruiser 100/LX470 for 106, and the Land Cruiser 80/LX450 Wonder and Phoenix. Here’s a closer look at how each model evolves:

106

The rugged Land Cruiser 100 is paired with the classic 60 series to create the Renoca 106. Guaranteed forquality and durability, the 106 incorporates parts from the official 60 series as well as FLEX original steel. Theresult is a unique vehicle that pairs a classic exterior with contemporary performance.

Wonder

Renoca Wonder starts with the 60 series-style round headlights that transform the Land Cruiser into theconcept that became the Renoca series. From its bumper, side lines, and roof line, the Wonder brings the classic monotone body style into a new iteration that showcases some of the finest Land Cruiser features in a new light without waiting decades for a new model.

Phoenix

Using the Land Cruiser 80 as the base model, we sought a more angular form that is popular in today’s automotive design trends.
A rounded hood transforms the Phoenix’ silhouette and emphasizes its horizontal lines which we accentuated with a two-tone paint scheme. For balance, the grill-mounted iconic TOYOTA emblem draws all of the lines together.

Windansea

Windansea’s exterior begins with a straight-line hood design intended to enhance the vehicle’s distinctive appearance.
Nostalgic round headlights and a large, powerful grille recapture legendary Toyota design. Steel bumpers and under guards emphasize Windansea’s strength and durability. Created exclusively for the U.S. market.

The process to make a Renoca

Our transformation process spans a timeframe of 13 to 23 weeks and is divided into four distinct phases, each playing a crucial role in the evolution of your Renoca vehicle. Let’s break down the details of each phase:

Preliminary Phase

To kick start the transformation journey, we begin with a comprehensive preliminary phase that spans approximately 2 to 4 weeks. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what happens during this crucial stage:

Initial Consultation

The process begins with a meeting where we sit down with you to delve into the nitty-gritty details of your build. During this consultation, we discuss your specific requirements, budget considerations, and financing options.

Preliminary Quotation

Based on the insights gathered from our meeting, we provide you with a preliminary quote. This quote is tailored to your unique needs and serves as an initial estimate for the project.

Base Vehicle Selection

Once we have a clear understanding of your preferences, we begin our search to find the ideal base vehicle that aligns with your vision. We take into account factors such as model, condition, and history.

Safety & Quality Assessment

Prioritizing your safety and satisfaction, we subject the selected base vehicle to rigorous safety and quality tests. Our goal is to ensure that the chosen vehicle meets the high standards expected of a Renoca transformation. All vehicles in consideration for our retrofit conversion undergo Renoca Quality Inspections to determine their eligibility. Depending on the vehicle’s condition, we may perform necessary reconditioning and repairs to bring it up to our exacting standards.

Our primary focus throughout this phase is to guarantee you a fantastic car-life experience with Renoca, where every detail is meticulously inspected and quality is paramount.

Retrofitting Phase

As we transition into the Retrofitting Phase, this is where the magic truly happens. This phase is a comprehensive process that spans a period of 8 to 12 weeks, contingent on the specific specifications of your Renoca vehicle. Here’s a detailed overview of what happens during this phase:

Dismantling

We start by carefully disassembling the base vehicle, preparing it for the transformation process.

Renoca Kit Installation

The heart of the Renoca revolution begins with the installation of our specialized Renoca kit. This made-in-Japan kit is designed to bring your vehicle’s performance and aesthetics to a whole new level.

Lift Kit Installation

Depending on your preferences and requirements, we incorporate a lift kit into the vehicle, boosting its off-road capabilities and appearances.

Painting

A fresh coat of paint is carefully applied to your Renoca vehicle, giving it an exterior sure to turn heads.

Additional Customization

If you’ve selected additional options or accessories, such as custom interiors or advanced tech features, they are added to the vehicle during this phase.

Throughout the Retrofitting Phase, we keep you informed with periodic updates that include photos and notes, so you can follow along with your Renoca’s progress. You’ll find that our team’s expertise and attention to detail give them the tools to create a precisely crafted vehicle that will meet your expectations and specifications.

Internal & Accessories Phase

In this phase, we move deeper into refining the interior while fine-tuning the looks and functionality of your Renoca. This phase usually takes 3 to 7 weeks, depending on the requested features and options. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what happens during this phase:

Interior Enhancements

In order to transform the interior to meet your preferences, we upgrade the seats, carpeting, and audio system while focusing on ensuring you’ll be comfortable as you drive.

Steering Wheel Upgrade

Your vehicle’s steering wheel will be upgraded as per your request, not only for improved aesthetics but also for better control and functionality.

Customization as Requested

Any additional options or features you’ve requested are integrated into the vehicle during this phase. Whether it’s advanced tech, unique interior finishes, or specialized accessories, we ensure they are seamlessly incorporated.

Tire and Wheel Enhancements

We work on the tires and wheels to improve the vehicle’s performance and appearance, ensuring a smooth and stylish ride.

Roof Racks and Accessories

If roof racks or other accessories are part of your customization plan, we install them at this time.

Presentation & Handover

After all the precision work has been completed, it’s time for the much-anticipated Presentation & Handover phase.

Can I bring in my own Land Cruiser?

Yes, you can bring in the Land Cruiser or LX you own. The pricing starts from $26,500 for the 106, and $25,000 for the Wonder & the Phoenix. For more information, feel free to contact us!

There are upgrade options for tire, rims, suspension lifts, roof racks, premium seat upholstery, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation and backup cameras.

Can I Renoca-fit a Lexus?

Yes. Some Lexus models listed below share the same body as the Land Cruiser series.

Where are the Renoca kits made? Do you build it in Japan and then bring it here?

Renoca kits are made in Japan. We ship them over to San Diego and install them at some auto body shops that meet the FLEX quality standards.
